During his time at AstraZeneca, Tarek held various leadership roles, including International Marketing Director, Head of Sales, Global Marketing Lead, and Digital Strategy Lead. He successfully led teams and delivered results, such as accelerating growth for a $1B+ portfolio in multiple regions, gaining leadership positions in markets, developing sales managers to leadership roles, and launching successful reward and recognition programs. Tarek also demonstrated his ability to develop and execute innovative strategies, such as omnichannel and e-commerce strategies, and to collaborate across functions and geographies to achieve goals.

Most recently, Tarek led the CVRM Established Brands for Emerging Markets at AstraZeneca, where he was responsible for overseeing the brand strategy and performance in 29 countries across international emerging markets. In this role, he boosted AstraZeneca's position in the CVRM audit market as the #1 CVRM company in UAE and gained the #1 position in SGLT2Is for Forxiga Fr. in UAE. Additionally, Tarek managed the HCP strategy while integrating new extended indications for Forxiga, skillfully managing change and mobilizing the HCP strategy around a common goal to differentiate versus competition with scientific-based evidence.

Tarek is a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for driving growth and innovation in the pharmaceutical industry. He is a servant leader who believes in empowering teams, building trusting relationships, and supporting his employees' growth and fulfilment. Tarek holds an MBA from IE Business School, a Master's in Management Research from ESCP Business School, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Cairo University.
